Balajori is a beautiful smooth musical mystic by Fake Shamans, Rakae Jamil, Aizaz Sohail, and Farhan. These Lahore-based electronic music duo is gaining immense popularity with every passing day, and they are gaining international fame with their unique sense of soulful music.

There is a lot of talent, and excitement in this band, Muhammad Shah and Umair Anjum are the band members and DJs. Though they joined the group instantly; about ten years ago, Shah was studying in England and Umair was in Canada but they luckily met in Lahore and that’s how the like-minded people came into a music relationship to start this exciting venture. Shah was working as DJ and playing & producing music even before. Umair was also into House music, so they establish their name as a music brand.

They are among the first ones, who introduced and established electronic music in Lahore, as little of such music was only in Karachi. In the beginning, they played at small events but over time they became the talk of the town and now they have the honor to perform at the Lahore Music Meet too.

Earlier, they wanted to play outside of Pakistan only because of the massive target audience for the type of music they play, but probably they couldn’t resist the true Lahori and Pakistani spirit inside of them, and somehow they managed to play both inside and outside the country with the same soulful touch.

In a country where there is a lack of understanding at a certain level on such type of music, not only in Pakistan but in other parts of the world as well; producing such kind of music shows their daring yet motivated gesture. There was a time at the start of the 21st century when the Pakistani Music Industry has been playing similar kinds of music like the amalgamation of eastern and western touches. In fact, not only in Pakistan but all the Persian and Iranian music industry was doing the same, then these guys thought to do something different while keeping in mind the diversity of the Pakistani Music industry over the last 50 years. So they developed a kind of music that hasn’t been discovered yet. So they mixed electronic music with the mesmerizing music composition of the 1970s till date and that’s the uniqueness of electronic music that it offers the flexibility to get merged with any good composition.

Fake Shamans believe in doing such music experiments, they might sound good to someone but not to others, so they are well aware that the music they play is not for everybody but a particular type of audience. They certainly possess dire love and dedication to their Disk Jockey skills and to spreading this unique electronic kind of music. They have been producing live streaming both at the national and international levels. In 2019, their career took a huge turn when they started exploring the DJ life outside of Pakistan, in Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia in front of a massive audience, since then they became part of the international stream, and later they went to the UK to Canada to play music.

While exploring music and the World, they were equally working on establishing their brand “Fake Shamans”. Not only this, they learned the music properly, through proper channels, they learned about different musical instruments from Music teachers and thoroughly improved their music productions and that’s how they came to the limelight in the last few years. Some of their internationally acclaimed projects like “Siachen” and one on “Noam Chomsky; with a Musician, Elan who also worked for the New York Times gave them a real breakthrough.

Now, Pakistani Music is certainly on the map of the World and in the international domain, and people in significant parts of the world are talking about Pakistani Music. Fake Shamans are of the view that there is a dire need to arrange and establish music schools and workshops to promote music art at the national level. Big brands and musicians need to spend to promote Pakistani music as proper training centers. Though Coke studio already did wonders to highlight the name of Pakistan in the International Music World. We want to see them in Coke Studio one day, as they believe that music always finds its way.

Moreover, there is a modern music culture that is building up among the youth not only in Pakistan but in the neighboring country and they love Pakistani Music like anything as through music they got to see the good image of Pakistan contrary to what they see in the News items, etc. Fake Shamans has a healthy fan following from India as well and they hope that by bridging a gap, the new generation all over the world will follow this unique form of art while following the music they produce.

We wish them all very good luck.
