Fairy Meadows is a quiet and comforting location to take in the scenery of the mountains and the friendliness of the locals. The myth that Fairies have their heaven on this beautiful green plateau is reflected in the name Fairy Meadows. It is also said that fairy Meadows is the place of fairyland (extreme beauty) which attracts people who like to travel outside and want to take in (in the heart) the local scenery. An Austrian climber Hermann Buhl who made the first mounting on Nanga Parbat in 1953 named this land Fairy Meadow due to its stunning scenery. Fairy Meadow is a lush green land that is about 3300 m above sea level. It lies on the western edge of the Himalayan range in Pakistan. The location and atmosphere of Fairy Meadows are amazing with lush meadows, sparkling streams, and a breathtaking perspective of the Karakorum Mountains. The meeting place of three mountain ranges the Himalayas, the Karakoram, and the Hindu Kush range lies in Pakistan’s northernmost region Gilgit Baltistan. Due to extreme weather changes in the weather flight delays or even cancellations are a normal and frequent occurrence in these areas. Because of this, there have been no major aircraft accidents on this route.

You will be welcomed by an abundance of lush greenery and wildflowers that cover the surroundings as you approach fairy meadows. Along with a variety of other animals, fairy meadows are also home to the Himalayan brown bear, snow leopard, and musk deer. Trekking is another activity visitors can enjoy at the neighboring glaciers, including the world’s longest glacier “Biafo Glacier”.

In addition to trekking vacationers will find pleasure in camping at Fairy Meadows. Numerous campgrounds in fairy meadows provide the opportunity to spend the night outside due to the relaxing surroundings and the sound of water flowing nearby.

Resort Camp at Fairy Meadows is referred to as the Raikot Serai and has a couple of plain huts for rent. Some of them have open views of the Raikot Glacier and the north face of Nanga Parbat which is commonly referred to as the “Raikot Face”.

In other words, Fairy Meadows is a natural wonder that attracts tourists from all over the world. Its unparalleled beauty, unique wildlife, and exciting trekking opportunities make it an ideal destination for adventurers, trekkers, and nature lovers. The fairy meadow’s peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views make it a perfect location for camping and photography. Fairy Meadows is a place that should be on every tourist visiting list.
